How to Apply for a Passport Online

Overview

The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC) in Uganda allows individuals to apply for passports online to ease the process and improve efficiency.

Steps to Follow

1. Visit the online portal: passports.go.ug.
2. Click on Start New Application and select the appropriate category (e.g., Ordinary Passport).
3. Fill in the online form with your personal information.
4. Submit the application and download the payment slip.
5. Pay the passport fee at a designated bank or via mobile money.
6. Book an appointment online for biometric capture at the passport office.
7. Visit the office on your appointment date with all required documents.

• Recommendation letter (if needed)
• Payment confirmation slip

Processing Time

Standard processing takes about 10 business days. Express services may take 2–3 days.
