Ugandan citizens living in South Africa can apply for a National ID through the Ugandan High Commission in Pretoria. The process ensures you stay registered and recognized as a citizen even while abroad.
Steps to Follow
- Download and fill the NIRA registration form from the official NIRA website or get it from the Ugandan High Commission.
- Gather required documents (see below).
- Visit the Ugandan High Commission in Pretoria for biometric capture and form submission.
- Wait for communication from the Commission regarding collection or delivery.

- Valid passport
- Two passport photos
- Filled application form
Processing Time
The ID may take up to 3 months for processing and delivery. Status updates may be requested through the High Commission.
