The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) issues Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) to individuals for tax compliance. This guide outlines how an individual can apply online for a TIN.
Steps to Follow
- Go to the URA web portal: www.ura.go.ug
- Click on e-Services and select TIN registration (individual).
- Fill out the TIN application form with accurate personal details.
- Download and print the completed application form.
- Submit the form to a URA office for verification and issuance of the TIN.

- Valid National ID or Passport
- Filled and signed TIN application form
- Any supporting documents (if applicable)
Processing Time
Typically, TINs are processed and issued within 1 to 3 business days after successful submission and verification.
